Flytipped white chests of drawers on Rochester Way SE3

Reported in the Flytipping category by Michael Sheridan at 11:55, Thu 30 June 2016

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 5 minutes later

Two white chests of drawers flytipped on grass verge/ in hedging on Rochester Way, close to junction with Wricklemarsh Rd SE3 (Kidbrooke Park Rd side of A2). Flytippers have used gap in hedgerow where operatives have had to trim back foliage to access previous tips. Thank you.

  • Just checked at 20.20 on 7/7/16. Been a while RBG - why no action on this tip yet? Please remove asap - opportunistic flytippers will add to this & our problems will increase. Thanks.

  • Nope. Just checked AGAIN - still there. 13: 20 15/07/16. Maybe consider disciplinary action against whoever is lying to you & claiming to have done work & then wants to get paid for it? Just a thought. Sort this crap out eh? RBG fail.

I have passed this to the Operations manager to investigate why this was closed down without it being collected, but, I've also arranged for the work to be done over the weekend.

Not cleared over the weekend as promised. Flytip still here at 11.55 on 19/07/16. Here are some pictures for the Operations Manager. Direct him/her to the epic fail of the 10L paint tubs flytip on the same spot some time ago which Fix My Street still displays.

  • Great! Now people are adding to the original flytip - as predicted - well done RBG - good idea to offer encouragement to novice flytippers. Large flatscreen tv box on top of the chests of drawers now. Lets see if RBG can ignore that too. Please notify Satti Heir that I wish to make a complaint.

  • Poor experience. Despite very clear location details of items in what is a flytip hotspot, the Local Authority failed to remove items. When a reminder was given via FMSt update the Local Authority falsely claimed to have removed the tip. Only when threatened with a complaint to a senior council official did Royal Borough of Greenwich actually act. This follows the pattern of a previously reported (and subsequently ignored) report in same location (see 10 litre paint tubs...) So, FMSt works just fine, but only when Local Authority actually acts upon reports & does not act dishonestly in claiming to have removed tips which are clearly still there. How about the LA uploading a photo of the items removed & placed on the back of the truck? Or pics of the nice clear chest of drawer shaped space once tip removed? Wouldn't that be nice. Thanks FMSt. Till the next time.
