Tree still needs pruning and lopping

Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 15:56, Tue 18 March 2025

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7298909.

This tree is in need of pruning and lopping and the previous fix my street report has been deleted without anything changing. The tree roots are now beginning to break up the tarmac and create tripping hazard near a bus stop and school. It needs some care and attention due to how large it is.

Updates

  • No reply from Royal Greenwich Council - seen people pulling the lower branches as they pass which will damage the tree. Please can this have some care and attention?

  • Having to collect 10 bags of blossom proves how large this tree has become and needs some urgent care and attention from the council. This request has been live for over a year (previous one disappeared without any action or reply).

  • On the 24th Sept the Greenwich Mayor office has quoted "The tree has recently been inspected, and it has been recommended for reduction. This work will be carried out within the next couple of months. The tree is in fair condition with no major defects, so the work is not considered a high priority.” Time will tell ... so by 24th November it should have been pruned.
