Urgent Repair Required – Hazardous Road Surface Near Blackheath / Royal Standard (Stop BC)

Reported via desktop in the Potholes category anonymously at 12:14, Thursday 6 February 2025

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7095592.

I am writing to report a deteriorating stretch of road near the Blackheath / Royal Standard (Stop BC) bus stop. A previously repaired section has degraded significantly, creating an uneven and hazardous surface for road users, including cyclists.

As a regular cyclist on this route, I have found this section of road increasingly difficult to navigate. The uneven surface poses a serious risk, especially in poor weather conditions or low visibility, where the depth and irregularity of the damaged area are harder to detect. The instability forces cyclists to adjust their path suddenly, swerving into the centre of the raod, which is dangerous in an area with frequent bus and vehicle traffic.

Given the potential for accidents and injuries, I urge you to prioritise repairs to this section of the road to restore a safe and even surface. Addressing this issue promptly will significantly improve safety for all road users.

I appreciate your urgent attention to this matter and look forward to your response regarding the planned repairs.
