Urgent Repair Required for Hazardous Pothole – B12 / Stratheden Parade / Vanbrugh Park
Reported via desktop in the Potholes category anonymously at 12:11, Thursday 6 February 2025
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7095569.
I am writing to report a large and hazardous pothole located as you come around the B12 and turn right along Stratheden Parade into Vanbrugh Park. The pothole is significant in both size and depth, posing a serious danger to road users, particularly cyclists.
As a regular cyclist on this route, I have found this pothole to be especially hazardous. Due to its position, cyclists are forced to swerve to avoid it, which is particularly dangerous in an area where vehicles are manoeuvring around the turn. In darker conditions or adverse weather, the pothole is difficult to see until it is too late, increasing the likelihood of accidents. I have personally experienced near misses due to unexpectedly hitting it.
Given the potential for serious injury and the risk this pothole presents to all road users, I urge you to take immediate action to repair it before it deteriorates further. Prompt repairs will help prevent accidents and improve safety for cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians alike.
I appreciate your urgent attention to this matter and look forward to your response regarding the planned repairs.
