Car dumped by man 4 days ago.

Reported via desktop in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 12:59, Thu 14 November 2024

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6733345.

Car in Bad state. Clearly been in a crash and then hidden somewhere before being dumped in our road as there is moss growing on it. No one with a Z4 would treat the car like this!

Updates

  • Please accept this response as acknowledgement that it has been received. All enquiries relating to abandoned/untaxed vehicles will be investigated fully. The Local Authority can take Enforcement action on a vehicle parked on a public road if its tax has expired for more than 2 calendar months and 1 day. The Local Authority has no powers to remove vehicles with no insurance or MOT, this is a Police matter and can be reported to https://www.police.uk/ pu/ contact-the-police/ . If the land on which the abandoned vehicle is located is occupied, the local authority must give the occupier a minimum of 7 days and if on private land 15 days’ notice is required to confirm that they propose to remove the vehicle. The local authority is not entitled to remove the vehicle if the occupier objects to the proposal.

  • Sadly this service does not work. It has been over two months now that this car has been dumped. I will just have to phone the police instead.

  • Unfortunately neither the council or the police will take responsibility for this dumped car that has clearly been in an accident. It is a danger to children and animals in the condition it is in that is worsening by the day. It has been over 4 months now. The MET said it is not a matter for them and the council have not even responded to this post.

  • No-one has taken responsibility for this. The council are ignoring the car and the MET say it's nothing to do with them. PLEASE can someone remove this.

  • I have written to the council and councillors many times and they have not even acknowledged my emails. I am disabled and need the space for my car. The MET police refuse to do anything either. This has gone beyond a joke. It is an eyesore and dangerous due to its condition.
