Empty high Street raised planter boxes

Reported via mobile in the Weeding Request category anonymously at 15:08, Monday 7 October 2024

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6562044.

The Greenwich council cleared out the above ground flower beds, but didn't replace them with any plants or shrubs. Now the weeds are growing back. Please could you put some exotic glasses or heather, something that is low maintenance and will keep the weeds down. It shouldn't be that hard, otherwise why were the planter boxes put therein the first place.

  • The council advised me that they had seeded the planter boxes with wild flowers. I responded by saying that would not be satisfactory, as the weeds were already growing back and would choke any new growth, plus wild flowers are seasonal, and what is needed is year long plants, like exotic grasses or heather varieties.
