Loose Personhole Cover
Reported via iOS in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 08:59, Sat 16 March 2024
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5721322.
The manhole cover in front of the Premier Inn on Greenwich high road is loose since approx 1st March 2024. Vehicles continuously drive over which could be very dangerous, and it makes a horrendous noise. This is getting worse by the day. This has been previously reported and marked as “fixed”. RBG: do not close this ticker without action. Thanks!

The noise is unbearable. Why did you close this as “fixed”?

Why did you close the previous report and mark it as “fixed”, Greenwich Council? That’s just infuriating and leads to even more frustration for all of us having to live with this racket going on 24 hours a day for over 2 weeks now. What did you think you would achieve by doing that? Wouldn’t it have been easier to process that ticket? Well here it is again, only this time copied to all the local councillors. Please action this ticket.

The nose from this is affecting so many of the local residents, it’s infuriating. PLEASE FIX. This has been since at least beginning of March.

How long will it take the Greenwich authorities to resolve this issue as the admin closed the earlier reported case without resolution?
This issue requires urgent attention as it has now been reported for few months, please provide ETA for the fix.

Has Greenwich council run out of funding as this reported issue still hasn’t been fixed and no update has been provided so far?

Clanking day and night. Raised issue with local councillors and council officers. They say that Thames W were requested to attend but refused, citing this is not their manhole. RBG have now promised to attend - no eta provided so another week goes by of constant racket. Grrrrrr!

Still open, via questionnaire -
Council have set out an arrangement of cones and signs to prevent the clank - thanks. TfL say it’s the council’s responsibility and RBG are convinced it is Thames Water’s who say it’s RBG’s. Only taken 2 and a half months to get this far. Escalated to Local Councillors. Lots of kind replies but no action. HELP.
