Metal corroded and rusty fence

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/Footpaths Repairs category anonymously at 14:36, Sat 9 September 2023

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4975371.

The hedge was cut back yesterday and the fence left protruding into the footpath that is also used as entry to 526 and 528 Rochester way. As disabled access is required to the resident of 528 and would cause injury to anyone touching this to get past it needs to be rectified for safety reasons

Updates

  • The fencing due to weight is now at ground level. This is a health and safety issue as someone - I saw 2 kids run through despite the parent telling them not to as there is spikes as part of the iron fencing that is corroded and rusting

  • The fence has completely collapsed and is blocking most of the pathway, creating a big safety hazard. The footpath is used by people with disabilities and needs to be cleared. Also, the footpath is not illuminated a night, and it's likely to cause an accident to anyone using at night time.

  • Hello, Just following up on this, is there any update on when this will be fixed, or do we need for an accident to happen for any action to be taken? Not only do we have a frail elderly neighbour who now cannot leave her house, but kids often cycle through the path. It is only a matter of time before an accident happens and someone needs a tetanus shot
