Dog fouling Paget Rise (Cantwell Rd end)

Reported via mobile in the Pavements/Footpaths Repairs category anonymously at 11:34, Wednesday 25 January 2023

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

Pretty much the whole of the top end of Paget Rise ( near Cantwell Rd) had dog faeces on it this morning, it was really difficult to avoid whilst trying to get my young daughter to childcare. This is becoming a persistent problem around the Shooters Hill area that needs to be addressed. I have provided pictures as requested on the complaint form but have also taken a video to show the true extent of the problem. It shouldn’t be something that residents have to just accept. As per Gov.UK advice local councils have a duty to keep pavements clean particularly of dog mess.

Updates

  • This is now becoming persistent. There were at least eight separate piles of mess along the pavement and road (which is only 40m or so long) last night, making it hazardous to walk on. I have witnessed a gentleman who lives at 28 Paget Rise failing to clear up after his two dobermans and one other smaller dog on several occasions recently, he also walks them off-lead and allows them to run in and out of the road - I have personally had to stop traffic to prevent one of his dobermans being hit by a car, whilst he strolled along oblivious. I strongly suspect this man is responsible for the rise in mess in the area.

  • To update: This is on a neighbour's driveway. That neighbour does not have a dog. This is definitely either, therefore, the responsibility of someone who leads their dog onto people's driveways to do their business, or allows them to walk off-lead.
