Illegal Parking

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/Footpaths Repairs category anonymously at 20:10, Sat 3 December 2022

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

Since Nov-2022, this car park the car as shown in the picture. This is illegal on three counts (parked on single yellow line on not allowed time, parking on dropped kerb and parking on pavement). This is dangerous for drivers and pedestrians, and a potential problem if other drivers decide it's ok to do the same and other houses will see their access blocked.

Updates

  • This is again parked in the same location tonight (7 December at 7pm), blocking the pavement for pedestrians and encouraging others road users to park on the dropped kerb outside the row of houses on Victoria Way and blocking people's drives.

Can enforcement action please be taken?

  • Still parking illegally and making it very dangerous for families with push chairs and disabled people to use the pavement.

This was taken on Saturday 14 January at 2pm when the area was filled with police for the Charlton game, so very surprised nothing gets done about this

  • 02 February 2023, 7.50am. Car parked on the pavement and yellow line in the same location again, just in time to block families and kids on the school run.

How hard is it for the Council to at least leave a note on the windscreen and address this illegal parking?

  • It's very frustrating indeed that while there are free parking bays across the street, this person chooses to park in pavement, yellow line and dropped curb... It's even more frustrating to pay council taxes, but not receive the services to enforce this matter. I called several times, long call waits, and only told that all they can do is to notify parking enforcement, and if available they'll issue ticked. But apparently that never happened

  • 7.45am on Wednesday 8 February, car still parking illegally in the same location.

This forces pedestrians and traffic to swerve out if the way, and encourages the same illegal behaviour in an area where similar parking issues recently happened.

This car is local so how hard is it to at least leave a note on the windscreen or drop a letter to the registered keeper?

  • 09 February 2023, 6.15pm. Car illegally parked in the same spot with a free bay available on Victoria Way just across the property.

    Incredible.

  • Thank you very much for looking into this and sticking a parking fine onto this vehicle.

The problem has not yet been fixed though, as the car it still parked there, but let's hope it stops now.

  • 7.45am 22 February 2023, this car is back in its usual location, showing total disregard for parking rules in this area, and for locals using the pavement.

I have witnessed first hand before disabled people having to go around cars parked in a similar spot and falling off their wheelchair into the road, so this needs fixing once and for all.
