Sewage Smell

Marked as fixed, yet definitely still a problem. The vent at this junction frequently makes the road and the surrounding area smell like sewage, to the point where I take a longer route into town just to about the stench. On a bad day the smell is wafted down the street, and can even be smelled down by the bus stops in the square.

The sewage smell continues and floats up into my flat, stinking the place out, making me literally sick. It’s impossible to eat or drink with that disgusting smell because I am constantly gagging and severely nauseous from it, but I’m a type 1 diabetic and am forced to eat regularly to ensure I can inject insulin several times a day to stay alive. Whether it’s a blocked drain or the actual stinkpipe I don’t know or care but this disgusting smell hasn’t stopped for months and it needs permanently sorting out immediately for the sake of my health & safety. If it’s the stinkpipe - get rid of this one and put another one in somewhere else where residents won’t be permanently subjected to this foul intrusion. If it’s a drain or sewer problem - get it fixed, permanently.

I can confirm that this problem is not fixed. Every day I walk past, the odour is foul. Something needs to be done about it.

This has still not been fixed. I just entered my flat and in the 8th floor gardens I was hit by the strong stench. I could smell it and gag from it even through my N95 well-fitted mask. I can smell it when I’m trying to go to sleep. Why has this not been solved? I’ve lived here since 2018 and while I have been able to occasionally smell it in the ground floor lift lobby of the Grand Depot Road side of Woolwich Central, I’ve never before been able to a. smell it so strongly and b. smell it in my 9th floor property or in the 8th floor gardens. Several people at Woolwich Central have been infested by fruit flies since this stench started and I bet there’s a blocked drain somewhere and the flies are breeding in it. Other local property owners are also troubled by the stench.

Definitely not fixed - I can't stand it any longer. I have a case open with Environmental Health and also with Thames Water who are due to call me back / investigate possible solutions.
