Yellow lines not removed
Reported via mobile in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 15:07, Sat 21 May 2022
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3541369.
There is a small strech of double yellow lines betwee the blue cars, with no parking restriction sign. These should have been removed after completion of the changes to the road crossing on Plumstead Common Road in 2020. If the yellow lines are still required then they should be moved closer to the junction.

In the Greater London Area, double yellow lines do not require any time or day restriction plates to be displayed as they mean No Waiting at any time. Blue badge holders can park on them up to 3 hours, and vehicles can park to load or unload for a maximum of 20 minutes, unless there are yellow dashes, on the kerbs, then time plates displaying No Loading must be displayed with the times of the loading restriction then during the times displayed no vehicles can waiton them, not even Blue Badge holders.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. The rules of the double yellow are not in question. See attached screenshots taken from Google maps street view. The double yellow line finishes at the corner near the drain where the pavement meets the park. The van is correctly parked on the section of the road where there is no double yellow line. However the double yellow line then continues for a short section between the red drawn lines. It is this section which should be removed.

The traffic order for the double yellow lines will have to be checked for this location. As the contractors who done the yellow lines may not have been able to do the lines because a vehicle was parked where the van is parked in your photograph at the time the yellow lines were put down, it may be the double yellow lines were installed to allow approaching vehicles a clear view of the crossing place and of the junction. Thank you for clarifing the location and the problem
