Lack of double yellow lines leads to permanent use of street corner as a car parking spot.

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category by Dominik Kania at 20:56, Saturday 14 May 2022

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

West Parkside is reduced to a single file daily by a local driver using the corner of West Parkside and Rennie Street as a free parking space.

Myself and my neighbours have previously reported this via email to RBG’s Parking Team, just to be advised that there is no issue.

The viable solution here would be to extend the yellow lines right up to the corner to prevent the rogue parking, and ease flow of traffic.

Grateful if your team could look into this.

Best regards, Dominik

Updates

  • Vehicles continue to park daily on the corner of the street which does not currently have double yellow lines, leading to single-lane traffic, and build up of congestion in this residential neighbourhood.

  • Lethal accident waiting to happen. This covers a pedestrian road crossing. Our pram was almost hit by someone going through this area. We could not see the car coming as it was blocked by a van. The car couldn’t see us because there was the van parked on the corner. Why are there no yellow lines here?
