Water manhole inspection cover

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:36, Tuesday 10 May 2022

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

When vehicles go over it they make an extremely loud "clunking" sound. It'd impossible to sleep at night with the windows open, and the sound is very intrusive when we are in the garden. This appears to be a relatively new problem. I was unaware of it last year.

  • They say it has been fixed. It hasn't. A water board van parked over the top of it for a few minutes then left. It remains exactly the same. Spend a couple of minutes standing on the pavement, and listen.

  • The problem persists. I've had no feedback from the Council or from Thames Water, so I don't know whether they agree that there is a problem and are planning to find a solution, or they don't see it as an issue and as far as they are concerned no further action needs to be taken.
