Abandoned and unsafe repair work at footbridge
Reported via mobile in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 11:53, Mon 11 October 2021
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3054799.
The footbridge has been closed since the Tuesday 5th October. The barriers do not stop people crossing and there are big holes at the bottom of the footbridge. It states it was due for completion on the 8th, yet there was no one there working 8th and had been left unsafe. It makes it difficult to cross now to get to the doctor's surgery and dangerous for children returning from school.

On 15th October I found the footbridge still closed due to works taking place, contractors were working there. Seceral pedestrians were crossing the dual carriageway on foot which is highly dangerous. Has a risk assessment been done ? There was no signage directing people to an alternative crossing, no traffic management or signage to reduce speeds or any measures to reduce the hazard. Very surprising this has been allowed to go ahead as it is.
