Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later
Cars are still being fixed on the public footpath and it’s being used as an extension of the mechanic garage. I don’t know how many times this has been reported and ignored by Greenwich but here we go again. Please please PLEASE, can you request that all cars are fixed inside the garage and not illegally on the roadside which is a hazard to pedestrians and road users alike.
I really don’t want to see an accident that is preventable, and might I mention as I and other residents have reported this and you are fully aware you (RBG) open yourself up to negligence.
THE CLEAN NEIGHBOURHOODS AND ENVIRONMENT ACT 2005 (“the Act”)
NUISANCE PARKING 1. Offences These offences are aimed at businesses that use the public road as a 'showroom' and people who use the road as a 'workshop'. • Section 3 of the Act makes it an offence for a person to park motor vehicles on a road or roads, where the vehicles are parked merely in order to be sold. The offence is committed if there are two or more vehicles within 500 metres of each other. The maximum fine on summary conviction is level 4 (currently £2,500) on the standard scale; • Section 4 makes it an offence to carry out "restricted works" to vehicles on a road. "Restricted Works" covers repair, maintenance, servicing, improving or the dismantling of a motor vehicle or any part or accessory. The maximum fine is level 4 on the standard scale on summary conviction.
Well people had the chance to have residence parking which would have resolved this issue and more. But people up the hill and around said no the parking is not an issue to them

Not sure who or why the parking restrictions were not put in place, I’m sure it has more to do with the police station at the bottom of the road rather than residents objections. Doesn’t mean that an illegal mechanic can use the whole road as an extension of his garage. It’s causing a hazard and nobody can walk on that side of the road.

Try antisocial behaviour look at the rules one states working on cars as a business in a street and this is listed as antisocial behaviour. Unfortunately, we was told by a local councillor that residents said they didn’t have a problem with parking up the hill that’s why it wasn’t approved for the hell and problems with this road.

Well that’s incredibly annoying if that’s the case as it’s clearly an issue. Some people put bins in the Road and a few have parking bay’s outside their homes so they’re not dealing with it. It’s definitely an issue with the cars parked up long term and him constantly blocking the sidewalk while he works on cars all day. I think I’m going to contact the head of Greenwich and ask him to look into the handling of this because it’s illegal, I always add the act that specifies that what he’s doing is illegal.
