Dead small dog on Sandy ‘beach’ area of Thames

Reported via desktop in the Dead animals category by Lucy-Anne Bishop at 23:38, Mon 2 August 2021

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

Saw at about 6.30pm this evening 2.8.21. at high tide level. On ‘beach’ Just below where pathway does a right angle to the left, heading north on the public way. Didn’t want to take a photo as intact but bloated from being in water. Had a driftwood log resting on its back legs. Very sad looks like might have been a small Jack Russell or a dachshund. Had a long nose. Teeth exposed. Thought probably someone’s missing pet and maybe microchipped. Would be good to get removed and checked, rather than potentially getting disturbingly scavenged by gulls or foxes at the edge of a public walkway. Just a bit further on than the red coastguard sign at th3 path edge.
