Business Blocking Road and Causing a Hazard

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 08:18, Saturday 12 June 2021

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

The mechanic based illegally on Riverdale Road/Saunders Road is again for the 100000 time being a nuisance up and down Riverdale Road. I came home from work this afternoon and was unable to use the whole side of the road because he had taken it over as an extension of his garage.

This is unacceptable. The public footpath is not for businesses to operate, Greenwich are fully aware of this breach and refuse to do anything about it. This matter has been brought to your attention multiple times and each time it’s reported you choose to ignore it like it’s going to fix itself.

The other issue with this is that children, the elderly, mothers with proms and disabled people are not able to safely access the public footpath and will have to walk in the road to avoid this person operating his business across the pavement. This is not really convenient and is a little dangerous for those who may struggle to walk at the best of times. If I pay Councle tax I expect to use the public footpath without obstruction and without fear of injury from falling cars which are jacked up on the road side.

It’s an illegal act which you the council must look into and you’re obligated to follow the law and shut this illegal behaviour down. The next step will be to report the Council itself for failing to follow their own rules and failing to protect the public from negligence.

Please sort this out once and for all.
