White van sticking out of the road with a Vauxhall Astra also parked opposite far from the kerb, on vicarage road
Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 12:40, Fri 26 February 2021
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2573654.
The vehicle AF09 KPU belongs to the nearby garage and I do understand it is on their own private property, however the bumper is sticking out into the actual road. In addition to this, there is a SILVER VAUXHALL ASTRA parked opposite this far from the kerb (I suspect which also belongs to the garage as it’s been there for a few weeks now). With these two cars parked inconsiderately it is causing the road to be extremely narrow.
It makes it difficult for resident’s small vehicles to pass through. Additionally, there are waste vans and bin trucks which require to pass through the road to collect weekly waste disposal and this issue is affecting them the most. It causes huge efforts of the waste team to carefully direct the truck through this narrow road (due to the garage’s careless parking) and causes a lot of noise due to this.
Please could you advise the garage to park elsewhere and considerately so there is space for residents and others to pass through this road.
There is another vehicle that is abandoned as well as the vauxhall cords and the blue vehicle I have also reported three months ago on coupland place. There is nothing that is being done & these are only marked as in progress by the council.
I don’t know what else we can do but this is causing the biggest strain on all residents and the waste team being severely restricted when travelling through vicarage road.

Do you fancy escalating this somehow? I’m keen on getting the details of residents’ struggles with the the garage and the parking situation, aka lack of residents parking and constant customers taking your spaces, as well as those stupid recovery lorries just parking pretty much anywhere and everywhere. I feel that this is just being ignored long before COVID etc.

Honestly shocking the response from the council and the police. All the abandoned vehicles just attract more anti social behaviour and crime to be carried out.
If you email the council, the council advise you to tell the police. The police then say this is a council issue. Just passing the blame to one and another.
There are several vehicles on vicarage road. In particularly a black car with no window (black bin bag) that has been present for several months. Could you also advise and look at the ticket that’s been posted since December regarding the blue abandoned vehicle on coupland place.
