Lidl Car park unsafe
Reported via Android anonymously at 20:31, Tue 16 February 2021
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2550862.
After rain, the car park always resembles the Somme, with huge muddy puddles everywhere. This appears to be because the ground was not properly prepared. The car park does not slope to encourage run off and seems to have no above or below ground drainage. In places, the ground has subsided causing paving blocks to move. There is surface unevenness and a trip /slip hazard due to unexpected and often invisible changes of level: subsided areas soon fill with water and become puddles. I have also messaged Lidl.

Lidl sent me this: We escalated your comments to our facilities department for the area. We will remain vigilant in maintaining the area and would like to assure you that any hazards will be reported immediately and addressed accordingly.

Lidl emailed bland reassurance to me March 4th. There was no acknowledgement that there is an issue nor reassurance anything will be done. "We escalated your comments to our facilities department for the area. We will remain vigilant in maintaining the area and would like to assure you that any hazards will be reported immediately and addressed accordingly."

Double-checked after brief spell of rain. The vehicle and pedestrian access ramp is flooded at bottom (ie where pavement, ramp meets public road Eynsham drive) causing much splashing of muddy water everytime a vehicle goes in or out of the site. #GreenwichCouncil. As to the Lidl car park, there are drainage grilles in the car park. But counter-intuitively , most of them seem to be ABOVE water level - so not of much use (unless the laws of physics go into reverse).
