Reported via desktop in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 08:08, Fri 12 February 2021
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2541347.
Vehicle has been abandoned on the street for at least two months. It is now parked opposite another van (believed to have the same owner) right on the corner of the crescent making it impossible for large vehicles to drive down the road. Bin lorries, large deliveries etc all unable to pass the vans

Somebody has tried to break into this van and has made it impossible for me to put a key in the ignition in order to move it. An auto locksmith will be along within the next week to repair at which point I can move it.

After several weeks of the bin lorries refusing to come down Palmerston Crescent because of this van, we (a group of neighbours) have today had to collect all of the bins and waste from the street so that the bin-men would agree to empty them at the junction. Greenwich Council - how is it fair that as residents we are caught in this feedback loop of you doing nothing about the van and nothing about complaints regarding refuse? Van owner - do the right thing and get rid of it!

Well let's hope you mean it this time. In the meantime, this is NOT fixed so I am reopening it. Greenwich - the black bin lorry just came and the driver confirmed that he himself has reported this van every week for 2 months as the reason our bins are not being emptied. What are you doing with this information?

Like I said last time, someone broke into the van and has jammed something in the ignition lock. Due to COVID I’ve struggled to get an auto locksmith out to it. However I’ve got one coming on Monday morning to fix this at which point the van can get moved. Please note that this site is not safe. Look on YouTube.. some un savoury people are going around finding vehicles like this and taking them und the guise that they are “abandoned” when really they are not. So I’m marking this as fixed and I would appreciate if you left it as is. Dave
