Illegal parking prevents access to Tuam Road
Reported via desktop anonymously at 11:57, Thu 7 January 2021
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2465742.
For a long time, vehicles have been parking on the junction of Tuam Road and Ennis Road. This prevents large vehicles from turning into Tuam Road, including refuse collection lorries, delivery vans and even fire engines from accessing the street. That latter does not bear thinking about in the event of a fire in the street. Blocking the road like this also causing major inconvenience and potential danger to pedestrians with visual impairments, blind people, those with limited mobility, wheelchair users and people with prams, all of whom would be required to walk into Ennis Road to get around the illegally and inconsiderately parked vehicles. A parking enforcement team needs to include this junction on their regular rounds immediately but a more permanent solution needs to be found, e.g. building out the pavement at the end of Tuam Road to prevent cars from parking there.

It maybe worth contacting the Police about this vehicle, as it is illegal to park within 10 meters of a road junction, whether there are yellow lines or not, this is for the reasons given, causeing an obstrucsion to emergency vehicles and large vehicles needing access to the road. If you tell the Police as the report in Fix my street they should take action against the driver who left the car in a dangerous postion
