With reference to report dated 6.7.20 Ref: 2187857 the amount of uncollected rubbish is growing again

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 12:14, Friday 31 July 2020

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

The photos included don't show the extent of the problem. I submitted a report on 6.7.20 regarding the dumping of large domestic waste and rubbish bags (some torn) spilling from the rubbish cupboard at this location onto the pavement and road. Following the report the rubbish was cleared within two days (thank you for that) however three days after the clearance the problem started again and continues to escalate. As said in my previous report responsibility for collecting rubbish and household waste seems to be a grey area at this location. Still we see vehicles from Greenwich, Peabody and SDL ignoring the rubbish. In fact an operator from SDL was seen to remove what appeared to be garden waste from the back of their van and throw in the cupboard further adding to the problem. Please can you find an solution to this ongoing problem.

  • This is just continuing and the rubbish is now all over the road with foxes going through it last night. Clearly we need some urgency with clearing the rubbish and something to stop it consistently happening. CCTV and fines may be??

  • I have also reported this to Greenwich council and Peabody. Peabody has informed me that the Management Company for this area (Tore Grove) is Hindwoods. I have sent them an email to their enquiries email address so let's see what happens. If Greenwich council has any power of enforcement over them they should get in touch with them and ask them to get their act together as this has been ongoing for years.

  • When will this disgusting pile of rubbish and large domestic waste be cleared and cleared on a regular basis? Furthermore, who is responsible for the clearance? As reported on previous occasions, most recent: 6.7.20 Ref. 2187857 and 31.7.20 Ref. 2224822 Greenwich, Peabody and the private maintenance company SDL are seen to ignore the stinking rodent and fly infested pile of rubbish. Also as previously stated the refuse at this location is bad for residents, environmental health and safety and not least visitors. We spoke recently to a group of ramblers who stopped to voice their disgust at the mess blocking their way. It is not uncommon for ramblers to stray from the Green Chain, Ridgeway or Thames Path to visit the Tump which is a local vantage point. A solution to this problem needs to be given some serious thought as it is clearly a growing health and safety risk. Please refer to our previous reports.

  • This issue was raised over a week ago and nothing seems to be happening. With the hot temperatures this situation is becoming a heath and environmental issue. Please sort it out as soon as possible.

  • This is horrendous. I live opposite and can’t open my windows because of the smell. Surely someone needs to take responsibility for this and clear it. There needs to be fines and strict action to stop this.

  • At last the disgusting and disgraceful pile of refuse at this location has been cleared this morning (18.8.20) Thank you. Now, there needs to be action in place to clear this particular site on a regular basis and a responsibility for doing so by Greenwich Borough or whoever is legally liable as the cycle of unwanted large domestic items, non-collection of household waste, garden rubbish, and fly tipping will continue. As has been said previously, it is an awful blot on the community, bad in so many ways for health and safety, residents and visitors.

  • Hi our enforcement team are in contact with the management agent and are trying to get the doors of this bin shed swapped to the other side (not facing the pavement) and I’ll ask if they can send letters out letting residents know about the bulky waste service we offer
