Rubbish strewn over grassed area and pavement opp. Nectarine way
Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 11:34, Mon 29 June 2020
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2177359.
Rubbish strewn over grassed area and pavement opp. Nectarine way: on corner of fencing around Morden mount school, across grassed area opposite Nectarine way; particularly behind wall. Also the same on stairs next to Quince house.
This trash isn’t getting picked properly: neither during daily cleaning by caretakers or when rubbish hoppers are collected.
Trash consists of food packing and food waste: this will bring rats to the area and poses a public health risk.
Updates
-
Some of this food packaging / food waste has been sitting there for some day or in some cases over a week.
Problem is caused, in most cases, by the wind blowing rubbish out of overfilled refuse hoppers. Possible solutions to this: 1. supply additional rubbish hoppers in area. 2. Do more to tackle companies/ individuals fly-tipping in hoppers here causing them to become overfilled; put up signage warning of fines, communicate with residents regarding reporting this in council communications/ newspaper/ posters etc
