Abandoned car

Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 17:42, Sunday 17 May 2020

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich less than a minute later

On Thursday 14th May the vehicle owner & his mate turned up. They were in a car registration RX15 VVN. I went out & had a word with them. They said they planned to repair the car where it was in Hill End. They said it would take them a few weeks to get it done. I said they would have a great deal of work to do with all the damage, how could they weld bits on, repair the steering etc & would it not be better to remove the car to a proper workshop to do all this. They seemed to think they would be able to do it all over time & just out in the street. I do not think that such drastic car repairs should be done in a public street, should be unlawful. They have not been back since, so they seem to just think it can go on for some considerable time, being a real nuisance to Hill End residents. When Royal Greenwich get out of lockdown, they should insist the car is taken to a car repair workshop and these substantial repairs not done on the street.
