Damage to footpath
Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Andrew Masson at 14:35, Sun 8 March 2020
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 8 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 2048032.
There is electrical power works taking place adjacent to the water board building at the bottom of Oxleas Meadow. In order to carry out the works the contractors had a digger and dump truck which are unfortunately causing damage to the periphery of the footpath. Would suggest that council undertake an inspection and agree what reinstatement works are expected of the contractor prior to completion of the project (estimated to be the 20 March 2020)

Still outstanding, the heavy vehicles accessing the work site for the electrical repairs caused significant additional damage to the extremities of the paths, which is, as yet, not dealt with.

Damage was caused to the path down from Oxleas Cafe by heavy plant machinery being used to repair the faulty electrical cable. This was flagged at the time as the expectation was the council would require the contractors to make good. To date no restoration of the damage caused has been completed.

Damage was reported as it took place so the council had the opportunity to get the contractor to undertake restoration but they didn't take the opportunity.

Not yet fixed but the council have been out marking up areas of paving to be fixed. Hopefully the contractors who caused the additional damage will be libel for the costs not the council tax payers.

Don't see how RBG can consider the issue fixed. No work has been completed to make good the damage caused by the contractors vehicles.

Extensive “new” works happening at same site. Possibly remedying unsuccessful work over last few years ? Either way, public areas such as the footpaths will need checking as heavy plant used on site. Reinstatement of RBG dog waste bin there would help the environment too.
