Mechanic Using Road for Works
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 09:59, Sun 26 January 2020
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1961118.
The mechanic on Riverdale/Saunders Road has been working on cars on the road and outside residential homes again. He has been doing it for some months and yesterday was working on several vehicles up and down the road, this has been flagged up many times but he seems to be doing it again and it’s becoming a nuisance. The road is not his own personal Kwik Fit so I don’t see why he has the right to block pavements and use roads as his garage extension, if works on cars can not be carried out inside the garage/lean-too he’s currently using them he should look for an alternative space which doesn’t inconvenience local residents. This needs to be dealt with as it’s not only illegal to work on cars on the public highway but it’s also dangerous for pedestrians and drivers alike, if a member of the public were to be hurt because of this mechanic illegally using the road to do work on cars they could sue.

You have got to be kidding me. This has to be a joke. Could you explain why this has been closed? Has the actual issue been resolved? The mechanic is still working on cars on the road!!!!!

Not sorted as the road is still used as an extension of his garage. When you open up again after the shut down please make sure this is investigated correctly.
