  • Graffiti damage was reported in this location so that Greenwich Council with the most experience on the topic, could remove it. Instead a much larger area of the wall has been painted by Greenwich Council, an unattractive brown/black colour making the damage considerably more significant. This wall was erected to the highest standards in the last 5 years using a specific reclaimed yellow London stock brick at considerable expense, in keeping with conservation area rules. The house (1 Maidenstone Hill) including its garden walls are English Heritage Grade 2 listed and therefore protected structures, subject to strict planning regulations requiring planning permission to be painted. The 'remedial' works are therefore in breach of Greenwich Council planning laws, require Listed building consent, and constitute negligent action which is damaging to a listed property. Please come back ASAP and remove the paintwork erected and make good the structure as carefully as possible.

  • Would you please email me directly at Paul.Knight@royalgreenwich.gov.uk I attended with a team 26th November 2019 and cleared the painted surface by the sub-station. I need to discuss this with the occupants from No 1 Maidenstone Hill before the removal process.
