Very large tree roots damaging wall, steps and pavement

Reported via Android in the Trees category by John Ewer at 17:55, Thu 26 September 2019

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 5 minutes later

This is the third time we have reported that the large tree outside No 9 and No 11 Viewland Road, is causing damage to our property and the pavement because it has grown so large and has huge roots. We are extremely concerned that the tree will start to damage the walls and foundations of our property. We would ask for a response that does more than say that the tree will be looked at during the normal tree inspection schedule. Please regard this report as urgent. The front garden wall already has a large crack developing in it and is becoming unsafe. Regards from, John Ewer

  • Greenwich Council seem to have a very "laissez faire" attitude to reported problems and their communications are either slow or non existent. We have decided that we need to telephone as I do not think their online reporting system is seen as urgent or important.
