Garage Riverdale Road
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:56, Fri 30 August 2019
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1750148.
The garage on Riverdale Road is beginning to become a nuisance. You send people out and nothing ever comes of it, it’s not good enough!! Please send someone out who can do something about this issue. How many more complaints will it take before action is taken? How can you see him working on cars all up and down the road, have cars dumped outside residents homes for weeks/months on end and think that’s acceptable for a business?
Why is such a busy car business operating from such a small residential street anyway? Have any of you gone inside this business to see just why he would rather work outside on the street illegally than work inside his garage.
Please can someone who has some power to deal with the issue visit this location and do something about this for goodness sake.

I work in a garage we have to work with strict compliance with any electrical tools this include power supplies such as electrical cables and power sockets in the building even electric kettles also authorities are very hot on health and safety, even down disposal of oil oil filters old batteries brake pads etc... and even in the workshop we must immediately clean up any spills or leaks so why do we have to follow the rules or get fined os poss shut down and he does not ??????

I’m not sure, seems like he’s been able to get away with a lot that most people can’t. I’m sure all of what you’ve mentioned isn’t happening in the garage in fact I’m sure if trading standards went into the garage they would have a field day with all the fails he would rack up.
Not sure how long this saga will go on for but it’s starting to get silly now, like a very bad and long running joke 🙄

Do you think that this fix my street is just a way that Royal Greenwhich Council just lets Greenwich Residents think that they can get help in fixing the problems that make residents life’s a misery but have no intention of really sorting it out and fixing anything

I really and truly hope not. It would be a real shame if they didn’t follow up on any concerns and just let this misery continue. I’m really concerned about the safety aspect of this and I do worry that if this issue isn’t dealt with someone could end up hurt even cars being damaged, it’s terrible how long this problem has rambled on for.

Not fixed at all, I urge you all to write directly to the local MP for Plumstead and give her all the information you have on the garage and if you have pictures. The only way this will be dealt with is if someone is made accountable for his actions.

Not fixed. Please deal with the issues and complaints before closing reports as fixed, it is both rude and incompetent to close something as fixed if it’s still ongoing.
