Problematic Parking Riverdale Road

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:39, Wed 24 July 2019

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 1 minute later

Again Riverdale Road is blocked with cars being dumped and the mechanic working on cars outside peoples houses. As I live at the top of Riverdale Road I walk up the hill every day after work. As always the mechanic has bonnets open working outside the homes of residents, he’s also started to park more and more cars on the road making it impossible for residents to park their cars. This issue has spilled onto Saunders Road as they now park their cars on Riverdale Road and Viewland Road. How many more times are we going to have to complain about this before Greenwich fix the problem? It’s absolutely ridiculous. Why are we paying council tax if you the council refuse to do anything about issues we raise? I know for a fact that a few people have raised concerns about the parking and the mechanic working on the pavement but this issue is being ignored by Greenwich and I don’t actually know why they’re protecting this business to the point were residents are now considering legal action.

Please sort this out before it’s to late.

  • Why has this been closed? The issue is still happening. The road clears up and then suddenly it’s packed with cars that just sit there for ages outside peoples homes. What worse is that you’re aware that cars are being fixed on the road but STILL ignore this issue and say fixed like it’s all dealt with. Deal with the issue and stop cars being dumped on Saunders and Riverdale, and stop cars being fixed on the road.

  • Cars are still being left for weeks/months on end and residents are still not able to park where they want to.

  • Still an issue as residents can’t park outside or near their homes because the mechanic business is using all available spaces to fix and then store his vehicles.

  • Of course Greenwich closed this issue because they like to ignore this particular issue and we all know why. The road is still problematic as there are NO parking spaces due to the mechanics long term parked up vehicles.

  • Why don’t you ask the residents of Riverdale and all the surrounding roads of what they think about the parking situation and all the dumped and abandoned cars/vans. Maybe then you’ll understand just how problematic things have gotten.

  • I don’t know why you closed this? The issue is still ongoing. The parking situation along Riverdale and Saunders Road is ridiculous to say the least, you have a mechanic business who insists on parking up long term vehicles that do not move. He does not work on them they just sit there for months, so we can’t use any spaces and it’s becoming ridiculous. I really hope that someone reports the RBG and they check this site to see all the complaints that are made and ignored by you. Shocking standards.

So to answer the question No, it’s not been “fixed” please send someone out who knows how to do their job to sort the issue once and for all.
