Collapsing Utility Trench

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Andrew Masson at 20:47, Sunday 30 June 2019

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 4 minutes later

Thames Water dug a trench to replace water pipes, and the trench has subsequently settled about 2 inches. This is leading to a double dip approaching and exiting the speed hump, causing excessive noise and damage to vehicles. Logged previously but marked as closed with no action.

  • Had an email from RBG so least they haven't closed the problem. They have referred it to Thames Water.

  • The saga continues, Thames Water attending today to replace the tarmac infill on pavement, but despite having had several surveyors out failed to attend with the correct plant. The crew weren't in attendance for the trench!

  • Giving up hope, been escalated to local councillors who were given a date for the repairs, which came and went with no action. Sadly councillors seem to be treated with same lack of regard as residents.
