Use of pesticides

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Maria Chladna at 12:52, Fri 14 June 2019

Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 3 minutes later

Good Afternoon, this morning at around 9:10 I was going from school run to the bus stop from Woodhill Primary School towards A206. Between Tivoli Gardens and Pett street there is path under the railway and there was some guy spraying the pavements and on his back was written something like Weed Pavements Control. I am quite concerned why the pesticide are used on the pavements around the school. My small baby was with me and when I breathed it - it was quite unavoidable as I was too close to that spray (he was really polite and nice and stand back as he understood what is going on but it was already in the air) I got after that difficulties with breathing for around an hour. Would you be kindly able to advise what ingredients are used in this pesticide/weed killer? Or shed some more light into this matter why the pavements are weeded with the chemicals? I am not sure if this is Greenwich council who does this however as well I do believe there was also breech of H&S for the employee who did not have any mask on his face. Many Thanks, Maria
