Poor old 291

Council has done a great job last year listening to the complaints of parking on raglan road. Obvs the introduction of a double decker 291 has been a welcome to the community, as drivers do their best to deal with mini roundabouts, badly parked cars near parade of shops, and also buses passing each other. The bus times are always off due to these obstacles, but why isn’t there a ‘clear run’ for the westbound 291 route approaching bus stop WL (foxfield primary school). All of us at the bus stop waiting for the bus to get past the island, and then wait for no incoming cars so it can get around 3 parked cars and dink back in to the bus stop itself. Solution? Just extend the double yellow by 5 metres and then there will be less problems. Or give the bus a clear run (ie no parked cars from island to bus stop) - surely you don’t prioritise the two council houses’ needs for immediate parking (when basically anyone parks there), when they already have parking within the complex. Some understanding is needed, and also to take the positive steps already achieved, one step further. TFL send an email to ask ‘ooh how are you feeling about the new and updated 291 service?’ But if you always miss a train / DLR because of these pointless holdups, I guess the response is not ‘totally happy!’ As always, the ball is in your court, and results can be gained easily if you get on that bus once and see what it’s like

This van hasn’t moved in one month (yes I’m that sad to notice!!) - it’s sole purpose is to make it difficult for bus and large vehicles to poke out and back in around the island that’s just out of sight. Actually as I type this, a good example showing the constant hold up, this also continues as bud goes down to Woolwich, all the mini-bays are useful, but just takes one dumbass (or five on the school run) to make roads not passable. I still think you should consider having the double yellow extended well past the island, alternatively have a clear run to this bus stop, or remove/reposition the island. Common sense and costs make this easy. Thanks for reading. #everysecondcounts
