Mouldy food dumped on common
Reported in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 06:20, Fri 15 March 2019
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1572712.
Every day cars drive up and the occupants discard one or two large bags of unwanted food on the common. Not only is this an inappropriate way to discard unwanted food, the food is frequently covered in mould, especially bread. Mouldy food items contain tremorgenic mycotoxins dangerous to dogs, birds and other wildlife. Greenwich Council needs to take robust action to stop this - a few "Don't feed the birds" notices will not stop this problem.

We will put up more signage, also we will increase the Warden / Ranger patrols on the Common, with a view to issuing fixed penalty notices to the people discarding food
