Constant Parking in Cycle Lanes Trafalgar Road
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 12:16, Sun 9 December 2018
Sent to Royal Borough of Greenwich 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1482233.
This scene is repeated everyday during the morning rush hour. Articulated lorries delivering to the supermarkets in Trafalgar Road close to the junction with Woolwich Road. I've reported this location/issue on this site previously and seemingly there is no interest in RBoG compelling the stores to get deliveries completed earlier. This could be a fairly easy fix to improve cycling conditions in this part of the borough.

This is still occurring outside the co-op and iceland, around 10am most weekday mornings. The cycle lane is now marked by a solid white line. This Thursday at 10am, which is the co-op delivery truck time, the drive told me he had permission to park there, since there's no space for delivers around the back.

Same old same old. Is there any will whatsoever to do anything about this constant issue or do I have to take this up with local councillors or start posting on social media before RBoG takes some action?

No not fixed. This was the situation this Monday at 9.30am. Two trucks, registrations PO17 VYP and PD17 VYP, blocking the cycle lanes, which are marked by a solid white line. This is dangerous for both pedestrians crossing the road and bicycles. Iceland and the Co-op need to explain why they feel they shouldn't have to obey the parking restrictions like other road users.

This images is from a couple of weeks ago. This seems to be a simple fix to me. Engage with the stores including Tesco to get deliveries completed before rush hour.
