Multiple potholes and deteriorating patched up road surfaces

Reported anonymously at 10:29, Friday 10 May 2019

I live on Avery Hill Road and have reached out to the council in the past for a number of pot hole related issues at this location on Avery Hill Road. Although, the council has patched up the pot holes in multiple parts in the past, the situation of these pot holes and road surface has now become worse with multiple patches that can be found within a stretch of 20 metres, most of the patched up potholes now cracking up again and the road surface getting even worse on a daily basis due to constant heavy usage of the road. As a result of these potholes outside of my house, I am unable to live peacefully in quietness at my property due to the constant vibrations in the walls and property that I can feel every time a local bus, tempo, truck or lorry passes by. Alex Djan, the Traffic Group Manager for Greenwich in the past mentioned to me in an email response that Avery Hill road is a busy distributor road and the main link between Avery Hill and New Eltham districts. I would like to highlight to the Council that if this is truly the case, why has there been no action taken to ensure that this road surface is kept in a good condition? Although I have only highlighted a small section of Avery Hill road for repairs, but if the Council can get someone to inspect the road surface of Avery Hill Road from New Eltham station junction to half way street, the council will realise the poor state of this road.
